Walking Disaster - Jamie McGuire **If you have not read Beautiful Disaster then this may contain some spoilers**

Walking Disaster is the story of Beautiful Disaster re-told from Travis’ POV (with a few extra, lovely scenes) so this book is ideally suited to people who love Beautiful Disaster and a good re-read!!!

Words cannot describe how I feel about the story of Travis and Pigeon. Walking Disaster gives us the world according to Travis, when he meets and falls in love with his Pigeon….and what a beautiful world it is!! (sigh)

WD starts has the most emotional, heart wrenching, sole destroying prologue I have ever read, each time I go over it my face streams with the saddest tears for Travis.

“Don’t settle for just anyone. Choose the girl that doesn’t come easy, the one you have to fight for, and then never stop fighting. Never……..”

I saw a different side to Pigeon in Walking Disaster, she didn’t seem to give Travis a chance half the time and fought against their relationship; she was so frustrating, even though I knew the ending!

“After spending sixty seconds in Abby Abernathy’s presence, I discerned two things: she didn’t talk much, and when she did she was kind of a bitch. But I don’t know….I kind of dug that about her. She put on a front to keep assholes like me away, but that made me ever more determined.”

If it’s ok with Travis (for Abby to be a bitch) then it’s ok with me. Hahaha The true inner loveliness of Pigeon came out towards the end of the book, phew… We also see more of the relationship between Travis and the other male characters (his brothers, his Dad and Shepley) and their interactions with each other are touchingly beautiful at times.

Travis and Pigeon face many emotional obstacles:
“Every interaction just added to the growing snowball of clusterfucks that was our relationship.” Love Travis’ voice!!!

The depth and strength of Travis’ love for Pigeon is magnified in this book, it had me melting and swooning all over the place! He’s a hard man, a ladies’ man but now Pigeon’s man, they belong to each other –
“I belong to my beloved, and my beloved is mine!”
“I’ll never love anyone the way I love you Pigeon.”
“The only woman I’d ever wanna marry just broke my heart.”
“The only thing I’m afraid of is a life without you, Pigeon.”

Finally
“Even though we’d put each other through hell, we’d found heaven.”
